FAQ: Navgar Chat - Table of Contents

Question: What does Navgar chat allow me to do?

Navgar Chat allows you to:

  • Provide useful comments/questions/updates on ad hoc and unstructured tasks you have assigned to yourself and others as well as those assigned to you by others

  • Engage in a dialogue with others about tasks in Projects you are a member of

  • Direct message or create ad hoc group channels for messaging

  • Filter your tasks among Unread, Flow, Standalone Tasks, DMs, or Groups

  • Pin conversations (up to five) to the top of your message list

  • Add additional participants to your conversations from within the chat (or remove them)

  • Receive notifications when you are @mentioned (and @mention others)

  • Pin conversations

  • Express your thoughts and feelings with a well selected emoji

  • Upload most image file types as well as MP4

Question: How can I tell if a message is unread or not?

Unread messages:

  • Appear as a count of unread messages on the main navigation bar

  • Are highlighted in your list of chats

  • You can also filter unread chat specifically

Question: How do I know which of my messages are Direct Messages for me?

When someone tags you with a "@" in a message or the message is sent in a 1:1 chat, your notice for them appears as red dots beside the messages themselves in queue, the overall count of them will display beside the chat icon in the module panel.

Question: How can I upload files for my comment within a chat?

You can add files by clicking the paperclip icon in the chat bar or directly drag and drop your file into the chat

Question: How can I archive chats?

You can archive a conversation by hovering over it and selecting the archive button (last icon on the right). If you have several conversations to archive, you can use the bulk feature to select and action on. Please note that archiving a conversation only archives the conversation for you, not for other participants, and you will not be notified about any subsequent entries from others in the conversation unless you are specifically mentioned (@yourname).
