FAQ: Projects - Table of Contents

Question: How do I create a Project from within the Navgar application?

From anywhere in the application, go to the internal Command Bar. You may either (1) Use the dropdown and select Projects or (2) Type .P (Note: This means you need to type both the period and the P at the same time) to set the Command Bar to Project mode. Enter your Project name and click enter. A popup window will appear, allowing you to edit your Project name, provide a Description for the project, set the privacy level for the Project, and add organization members who will be participating. Once you're satisfied with these controls, click Next and add the tasks that will encompass this project.

Question: Why am I not able to assign a project task to a team member?

More than likely, the reason for this is the person is not included as a project member and therefore cannot be assigned its tasks. If you add them to the project, you should be able to assign the task to them

Question: I want to make a Project that is currently Public to Private, is this possible?

At this time, you are able to take a project that is Private to Public, but not from Public to Private. If you start with a Private Project and add members to that Project, you are able to control their access to the project. Note that when you remove a member from a Project, any tasks associated with the Project assigned to them will retain their assignment status but will be removed from the Project.

Question: If I delete a Project, will I lose all of the Tasks associated with that Project?

No. If you delete a project, the Tasks will still exist and remain assigned to their owner. The Project association will be gone however. If you simply want to maintain a 'clean' workspace, then we suggest using the archive function.

Question: What is the Project Archive function and how do I use it?

Once the goals and tasks of the Project have been completed, you may now get it out of sight and mind, until you need to revisit or review. Click the ellipse menu beside your project for this option. To view and/or restore the project you can re-access it from the 'Archived' tab in the top left corner of the Projects main screen. A few additional notes on archiving projects:

  • Archived projects will retain the same privacy permissions they did when active

  • Archived projects will move the tasks associated with the archived project

  • Archived projects tasks will retain the status of the task when it was archived (open, completed, snoozed).

  • When a project is in archive, no edits are able to be made to the task. It must be unarchived to make changes to the project/tasks within it.

  • Archived projects can be deleted

  • Tasks within archived projects can be deleted

  • Projects are able to be unarchived/restored from the archived tab. If a project is unarchived:

    • The project retains all privacy settings & moves back into the “Projects tab”

    • The state of all tasks is restored to the state it was in when it was archived

  • When a project is archived, the chat remains open. The chat will be archived 2 weeks after the project has been archived

Question: What is the difference between a Project Admin and a Project Non-Admin within a Project?

A Flow Admin can add and remove any other members to and from a Project (including other Admins). A Flow Non-Admin may not.

Question: Can a Project Non-admin delete tasks within a Project?

Any member of a project may delete tasks contained within a Project
