FAQ Tasks - Table of Contents

Question: How do I create tasks from within the Navgar application?

From anywhere in the application go to the internal Command Bar. You may either (1) Use the dropdown and select Tasks or (2) Type .T (Note: This means you need to type both the period and the T at the same time) to set the Command Bar to Task mode. Enter your task name and click enter. The Task should automatically display in your My Tasks.

Question: How do I assign tasks to others?

You can assign a task as you are creating it from the internal Command Bar after entering the task name by typing .O or @. The list of possible assignees will populate.

You may also assign (or reassign) any tasks in your My Tasks view by clicking on the Owner and selecting via dropdown a new one from your Organization.

Question: I made a typo as I was creating a Task, how do I correct it?

You can easily correct errors or made during Task creation or make edits later by clicking on the Task name and making your desired changes.

Question: I created a task that needs deeper explanation, is there any place for me to do this?

Once you've created a Task, you may easily update any supporting information necessary for its completion by filling in the Description field. This can be updated at any time. If the task involves others who have already seen it, you may also use the chat function to provide clarity to its assignee and participants.

Question: I have a Task assigned to me that I need to provide periodic status updates for. How do I do this?

You can provide updates to your tasks by adding them to the chat (available directly from the task). Others with visibility to the task will receive updates accordingly.

Question: I was overly optimistic when I told my boss I could complete a particular task in two days and I set my Due Date accordingly. Now it's looking like it's going to take three days. Can I update Due Dates?

Yes, you can set and update Due Dates up to the hour. As an aside, you might want to let your boss know before they start investigating your delinquency.

Question: I was in a hurry and marked a Task as Done when it was actually the task above it that I completed. Can I undo it?

Yes, you can set the Task to Open again by going to the Completed Tasks and unmarking the complete status.

Question: Can I sort my tasks by Due Date so I know what to work on today?

You can sort your tasks by any of the attributes of the columns in the My Tasks view by hovering and selecting ascending or descending (up and down).

Question: Where do the Tasks I create for others go, once I've assigned them?

There is an inbox called For Others, where you can search by person and status and task type.

Question: Can I set a task as recurring?

Currently you are not able to from My Tasks but you are able to do so as a Scheduled Flow with a single task, set to recur according to your preferences

Question: Does Navgar have any means of identifying new tasks that come into my task view?

As part of a bigger effort to keep you up to date on what is new and what is actionable, we've introduced the green 'New Tasks Badge' you will now notice when new tasks from Flows or Assigned by others hit your task list.

Question: How can I organize my tasks in Navgar?

There are several options, you can use the Today, Upcoming or Someday buttons, there you assign them according to when you think you can do them, you also have tags that allow you to organize based on topics, such as finance or IT. With this you can organize your tasks both by priority and by type.
